I have a 97 civic and in the last few days the blower motor for my AC and heater stopped working on the first two speeds. It works fine on the faster 2 settings, 3 and 4. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks

first try tapping the blower motor assembly ( under passenger side dash)
in my car the fan " wobbles" and it will release with a good ol tap
most likely it sounds like the blower motor resistor going out. mainly because it is working in the higher levels and not the lower levels.

in the motors, there are a series of windings, thats how the motors work, they work on 'legs' which are spools of wire looped around a rotor and a stator, sometimes the windings can get too hot and burn up and ground out, might have some burned windings. in that case you need a new blower motor.
or maybe im wrong. its always a good possiblity
