I am thinking of buying an sohc zc engine off of ebay and am wondering how much work it would be to put it in my 89 crx hf. The 62 hp d15b6 engine in the crx right now sucks (i have nothing against the D but 62 hp just aint that great) and am wanting a replacement for it. Would my stock tranny fit it or would i need a new one? Will i need new engine mounts or does the engine bolt right in? Also could the zc get turboed or get nos later down the line or is the compression ratio to high? The hf has multi point fuel injection so i shouldnt need to do any converting there. Thanks in advance for the help.
Ps. Sean you should have the package by friday if not let me know.

The zc will bolt to your existing tranny, but I wouldnt reccomend it, way too high gearing. SI tranny is best choice, but even the dx is better than the hf. No need to change engine mounts, should bolt right up. You are right about the mpfi, you shouldn't have to chance anything, except I think there is a couple wires you have to modify on the dizzy to get the motor to work.

See David Moore's excellent site (http://dmoore.com/crx/zc.htm). Though he is long out of the CRX scene he left the site up for others.
You may want to look around the ZC Resource (http://www.thezcr.com) as well.
Why the SOHC ZC? Why not the DOHC?

Good question.
