ok; I have a turbo'd d16a6 and an autometer oil preasure gauge. For referance i use el cheapo 10w-40 motor oil.

The way its setup is, there is a T where the oil preasure sender is (like most every turbo honda is done) and that goes to the turbo and preasure sender, and in the line to the turbo there is another T where the autometer gauge is tapped into.

I'm thinking this place sucks for an oil preasure gauge since my oil presures are alwasy very low when the car warms up (down to <5psi @ idle and about 50psi when cold). Now i'm not sure if there is a restrictor in the oil line for the turbo, but i do know my oil is pretty well broken down (no oil cooler; working on that), but even when its new it still doesn't make much oil preasure.

So anyway; should i be worried about my preasures? should I install a restrictor if there is none for the turbo? and should i relocate the autometer oil preasure tap somewhere else?

yeah, your aguge will read low, pressure being bleed off by the turbo feed line.

Some did make a adapter the went where the hex plug is on the oil pump. Then you could run a #3 SS line to the firewall and mount the sending unit there.

IF you go oil cooler, you can mount the pressure tap in the feed line to to cooler.

There is a writeup on Hybrid Garage.

yeah; i'm planning on installing an oil cooler. I forgot about tapping the preasure there. then it will be the absolute preasure the whole system is seeing.
good idea; now to just find a filter adapter plate and a decent cooler.

PermaCool, stay away from B&M's setup.

I was just going to fabricate something home made. Get a new block for the oil filter; maybe even relocate the filter somewhere. Get new braided oil lines; and use an oil cooler from something. My friend has a couple of toyota 4ag coolers and i know where some bigger volvo ones are for nothing.
