In case you did not see it on the news, several pet food makers are recalling their food. Read about it here.

Turns out I've been feeding my cat some of the tainted food. :( She seems alright though.
Pisses me off because I buy the more expensive Iams thinking it would be better for her and this happens.
Anybody know of another quality pet food?

Dammit!!! That sucks Jimmy. Sorry to hear that. I'm sure you can get into a class action law suit. If anything happens to my cat I'm gonna fuckin sue their asses off.

did you read the entire thing? it's not them that's suspect, they purchased an undisclosed ingredient from a new company, and that's what they're leaning towards. how are they supposed to know that the ingredients they purchase from their supplier are bad?
that's about as crazy as saying you're gonna sue walmart, for selling you the food that made them sick..
and it's not even like they're not doing something about it. they're trying to find the source of the problem, and they've discontinued use of the suspect ingredients. companies that contract through menu foods are voluntarily recalling food already, they're doing what they can to fix it. why sue?

you honestly might want to take it to get checked.. out of nowhere my 1st cat just got real sick, took her to the vet and they couldnt do anything... we had to put her to sleep.. the next day the other cat was sick and about a week later we had to put her down.. they were 18 years old but in PERFECT health otherwise...
Nutro is a good food that doesnt have this shit in it. Thats what we feed our dog.

why sue?
because when you fuck up regardless of who it goes on it affects people...
i lost 2 cats that were basically family in my eyes.. theyve been around my family ALMOST as long as i have...
so because some company that makes tons of money decides to go cheap and buy from some shotty company and it didnt work out the peopel who lose loved ones should just say "oh they are trying to correct it, there is nothin else needed to be done"?????

I agree. Somebody needs to be held responsible, either the supplier or the manufacturer.
I'm taking my cat to the vet this week and see how she checks out.

no, i'm saying, why go after the middle man, when the company that they bought from is the one that is causing the problem. i understand what you mean, i just see misplaced blame. if X company buys product from Y supplier, and Y supplier provides X company with, let's say, lettuce with salmonella on it. the FDA governs BOTH companies, but it's Y company that has failed the standards, so why punish X company for Y's mistakes? that's all i'm saying. find out where the true problem is, before getting sue happy.

The recall now covers dog food sold throughout North America under 51 brands and cat food sold under 40 brands, including Iams, Nutro and Eukanuba. The food was sold under both store and major brand labels at Wal-Mart, Kroger, Safeway and other large retailers.
you sure, Levi?

they are both at fault.. if a company doesnt keep up their standards or follow whatever procedures needed the company purchasing things off of them should basically say FUCK YOU.... and go elsewhere
they are just as much at fault as the other in my eyes..
if you do business with someone you check them out.. make sure everythign is how it should be.. that doesnt happen.. if you can take a shortcut then you do which is bullshit when it kills anything

does a car company test bolts and washers that they purchase from a larger manufacturer? no, they rely on the fact that government standards are being met, and therefore, the items they're purchasing are safe. once again, it's like saying walmart is at fault, for not testing the food they put on their shelves, and suing them..

they might nto check every bolt but i would hope to be able to find that they inspect how the company does business, visit there, check to make sure everythign is up to standards.. not just go by joe schmoe saying "yeah we do everything how its supposed to be ahem" and shake his hand

yeah... my mum's against dog foot - we feed our dog leftovers of what we had for dinner... rice, chicken, fish, vegetable broth, beef, etc. never broke a bone - strongest wienerdog there was... until he ate some "bad food" buried in the back. sigh.
