Got Vtec?

I am going to be getting my suspension done soon. I am wondering if there is a way to just buy some new strut tops for my after market struts. I am getting it done at the shop that I work at. The guys told me I should look into getting some new strut tops because of the age of the vehicle the ones I have could be junk.

I believe thats what he's talking about!

I guess it depends on how far he wants to go with his suspension wether he goes oem, energy suspension bushings or aftermarket pillow mounts!

If theres an ES poly replacement, go for it. Shouldn't make things stiff, just "solid".

I'm bringing this back from the dead as I can't find the answer anywhere. I'm looking to make a complete separate assembly for my new springs/struts, I ordered "strut mounts" for all 4 corners, but only got the washers and bushings that mount on the top of the strut, not the triangular piece that mounts the strut to the chassis at the top. What is this called, I can't seem to find a listing for it anywhere. I also guess I will want the brake line brackets for the front struts, can't seem to find those either. Is OEM the only source for these items? I've searched several forums and have come up empty so far.

To re-iterate: I want to leave my stock spring/strut assemblies fully intact, and make a complete separate suspension setup with my new components.

Am I crazy for wanting to do my install this way? I can't seem to find ANY info on these parts anywhere. I searched the Skunk2 website and I can't find the tophats for sale separately from the coilovers.

GC sells the tophats separately - technically what they sell is a real tophat since it recesses the shaft of the shock upward, so that, even with lowering, you still have full suspension travel. (I hope that makes sense - probably a bad description on my part)

If you just want OEM style, hit a junkyard and get the tops and get some ES bushings to stick in there.

It's too cold for junkyards this time of year, lol. It will be another 6+ weeks before the snow melts, but by the same token, this suspension won't be going on until that point anyways, lol.

Not crazy at all, quick swapout, get alignment, store the stockers incase you ever wanna go back to stock ride height.

Thats a EG front tophat, $15 at hondapartsdeals.com. You need some other minor bits, just go to the parts section of the site, select CHASSIS and then the right suspension menus.

Its not that crazy, but I'd suggest using GC extended hats if you drop more than 1", or have OEM tophats extended if you know a good welder. The GC tophats aren't cheap.
