i would like to know what's the difference between the RPM switch and the VTECH controller or they have the same function

yea i was just talking about that with my friends (the benefit of an actual v-tec controller vs. an on/off button)... i think switches are stupid:TD:

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. My understaning is that when the VTEC engages, there is a timing & fuel change in addition to the valve lift change. All of which are controled by the ECU. If you use an RPM switch to activate the VTEC, all you change is the valve lift resulting in a lean condition.

i just want to know which is better the vtec controller or the rpm switch because i am trying to put a vtec head into my dx crx and i have a vtec controller for free form one of my friends
