Ok im sure everbody is sick of hearing about them so sorry but please bear with me. Im going to build a mini me using an ZC SOHC block and a Y8 head I dont want to convert to obd1 and I would like to avoid a conversion harness. My question is what are my options for activating my V-TEC? Would a RPM switch work with my stock SI ecu? Thanks for your time in advance. :D

If not converting to OBD1 then buy a Field VTEC controller or an Apexi VAFC. They both allow you to control your fuel map, or at least a modified version of it. If you just get an RPM activated switch you won't have fuel control, and that could lead to problems, plus it's like 10 times more ghetto than the other two options that I just named off.

^^Agreed. There are a lot of vtec controllers out there. Find one that suits your needs and budget. I am using a power enterprise vtec and a/f controller. It was $340, which is pretty much what you would pay for one of the new vafcII. I definitely wouldn't install a switch. Using just a switch doesn't allow for the fuel addition like Cation.
