First I'd just like to say how great this site is. TONS of info. You guys rock!
Introduction - no need to read if you don't feel like it. Question follows. So, as my name implies, I'm new to the honda thing, and new to the whole 4 cylinder thing in general. However, I do have some car knowledge and love cars/driving. So logically, I'm looking to make my poor little civic wagon go faster. It may just be that I haven't done the small engine thing before, but it seems really slow. Now that I'm through rambling and kind of introducing myself, here's my question.
MAIN QUESTION: I've searched and can't find a definitive answer. What is the best route to take for a mini-me swap on a D15B2 engine. I've read up on a few options that I'm pretty sure will work fine, but which one is best? Budget isn't really an issue since it seems that you can get most anything you need from a junk yard for dirt cheap with these cars. Sweet deal! Also, if it makes a difference, I might go low boost this summer. Hopefully I can make enough power to be content with all motor, but I'm not sure yet and boost sure would be fun on this little car...
OTHER RANDOM QUESTIONS: I'm still searching on these, but if you feel like taking time to answer, that would be great. Otherwise don't worry about it. I also saw someone post something about a d-series reving 10,000rpm. How do you do that? Would it be very bennificial on a slightly built but mostly stock motor? Even 8,000 seems like it would rock on my little wagon. Also, any suggestions on what to do after the mini-me and what kind of power I'd be looking at? I see the typical things for these cars are CAI and 4-2-1 header. I know with some cars (I have experience with this on E30 BMWs) you can just swap parts with other motors for higher displacement and compression and what-not. Any other cool stuff like crank shaft or piston swaps with other stock motors that yeild good power?
Sorry for the short novel of a post...
