i got my new motor the other day and the only real things that i need to get the motor intot he car is a head gasket and a clutch. i wasn't planning on buying anything else for it but i bought a turbo kit that i found a good deal on and now i have no money to buy a clutch. i did buy a used y8 block a while back that has a C.M. 8lb. flywheel on it and it has a act clutch that was grabbing good when i last rode with the guy, he took the motor out 3 days later. i looked at the cluitch when i got the block and the clutch looks pretty worn and the flywheel has some bad looking heat spots. i was planning on buying a 4-6 puck sprung clutch. my question is this, do i need to buy the new insert for the flywheel even though i am going to be useing a puck clutch? i know that the puck disk will put some heat spots on it alone and will cause some chatter. or should i just put the motor and trans in with the old light flywheel and act clutch and then buy new shit and swap it out later? i can't go much longer with this b2 motor, it's just too slow.

4-6 puck clutches are over rated.

ACT HD pressure plate with even the "stock" clutch disc or the organic one will hold up nicely.

Mine's been putting up with the abuse for a LONG time and no problems.
