I was just wondering for future references if I ever wanted to rebuild my engine.
Can pistons/rings/rods made for the D16Z6 work as direct replacement for a JDM D15B VTEC engine?
BTW: Are NPR (Nippon Piston Ring) as a brand any good? Made in Japan too :)
Thank you folks.

As far as i would think they would not fit its meant to go in a 1.6 not a 1.5 there a little bigger so i dont think they will fit.As for the rings im not sure bro sorry.

D15B VTEC has it's own piston, a bastard child.........
Piston pin location is different, so you can't mix.

As above for the fist few questions but as for the rings i'm using the NPR ones myself, been in my mini-me now for just over 5k and it seems to be running very well with them!

The z6 pistons are not "direct replacements" but they can be used. There are a few guys running the vitaras on d15bs.

D15B VTEC is different from D15Bx. If you use 134mm rods, they may work but I don't know what the compression would be(plug it in a calculator and find out, but will probably lower than what It'd be in a D16). IMO, best ones to use are the PMS pistons from the D17 GX engine.
