Ok, I have a 91 si black.
car has a fresh sohc zc
i have a b16 block and IM chillin
I have a 50 shot dry chillin


i want to build a b16 with itr parts, b16 trans+ 50 shot dry.

pros/cons

well,,i was kinda thinkin about workin over the zc..ive never even driven it...ive heard they are fast a shit, and with a fifty dry it could be competetive...maybe a bisi cam and the fifty on the zc..im so open to the thought of it..my buddies are always leanin on me to go b,, thats why i alway have b series stuff just practically thrown at me for free....

Well I really like taking pride in building a fast allmotor D but you can't beat a B for making power and aftermarket availability.. I have heard bad things about the ZC just in that the aftermarket is nill.

If I had the money I would do a B, and if you want the B series mini me I would find a LS bottom end slap the piston out of the B16 in it, place PR3 on top avec LS VTEC and make 200 whp with all factory parts.. You have all of the expensive stuff so to speak already.. Only problem is you'll have to get a CRX SIR hood or aftermarket knock off to fit the LS.

ya..i know all about b series..ive owned a few..but not the infamous b16 with cable trans.....that with my fifty..i think it would be super scary fast..my y8 was sick enuf on squeeze.....

on the zc tip..i heard sumpthing about weak ring lands, but how weak could they be compaired to a say a d15...they handle fifty shot no prob...

Honestly couldn't tell you... I am not a forced induction kinda of guy.. When I need my fix I just go for a ride in my buddies rollercoaster think about and lay down till the feeling goes away and get back in the dirty ef and go for a cruise!

You are perfectly right but thing is we also go for 2 different thing. I would never think of running Nitrous.. You can basically make any motor perform awesome from forced induction when done right.

I myself am going to get tapped out on my D this year I am going to start looking for a B this coming winter.. Like I absolutely love Rushi's ITB motor but for 175 whp, I mind as well build an LS VTEC to make 200 whp for less.

So basically you are hardcore D because you are still thinking about it and I am a quiter because I am switching up... My theory, regardless if it is a D or a B we are all here because Honda keeps us going.. Hell if putting an H in an EF wasn't so gay I'd might even go that route!

My buddy Darren has the ultimate sleeper.. Here is Sudbury lets just say it is hard to find and EF/EG not in need of major rust repair.. My chum has a plain jane VX with steelies and BFG Control TA's in dire need of a paint job and made 225 whp Crower 2 Euro R IM RMF header and Crome. I love riding with him.

Yah they are pretty easy.. And 6/10 times they are good looking.. My wife is french. Not entirely but she can speak it...

This thing is I work with alot of frenchman.. Frenchman up here think it is cool to make checker plate bumpers for their F-150 when the old one has rotted off, put 24 volt gauges in their truck even though they don't work they still look cool, cause you know every truck should have a hydraulic oil temp gauge??? And of course Mullets.. The frenchman in this city have the worst mullets anywhere in the world...

the non vtec sohc zc is basically an a6 motor with a different cam.. ive heard nothing about weak ringlands really... they hold up to boost just fine.. so i dont see why a 50 shot of nitrous would hurt it.. up the shot regardless of what motor you use...

if you have everything for the b swap.. then id say do it, if not, sell it all, use that money to throw some internals at the sohc.. run yourself a 100-150 shot and SPANK people

ya the p29 pistons and the p07 pistons are they only ones i have read about haveing weak ringlands. those come in the dohc zc. the sohc notec zc is almost identical to a a6. and sohc zc vtec is almost identical to a z6

but with running a dry shot, i would do some fuel tuning.

yea i was gunna rebuild aneways so i just kept pushin it into the ground. but that was 182k on the motor.

the amount of money you will drop into the B16 will probably be about the same amount as boosting the D, and im sure you will see higher gains with the D

Boost! Sell the B-series stuff and you'd have enough money to build a nice turbo setup. Cheaper in the long run too. No need to refill bottles.

tuned with crome pro.. im goign to run a boost limiter of say 11 psi.. so no creep or spike etc.....

Im gonna swap a b16 in. My buddy has a b16 head sitting in his garage with skunk IM, portflo springs/retainers, hand port/bowl job, ITR cams for 400 bux......i already have the block, and shift linkage, ecu, so now i need to get some axles....this wont happen for a minute, so i will be ripping on the zc for the moment....I am selling my accord tomorrow, I hope my civic is painted and ready to roll by wednesday.
