Anyways, awesome movie, not as much fighting as I thought, but if you are dissappointed, you need to be cock slapped.

My favorite thing: The spartans. Has anyone here seen the movie Troy? I always thought that they made sparta look like pussies instead of the badasses they were. Do you think a society that leaves babies on the side of hills because they looked too small would have a fat, useless king?! FUCK NO. 300 delivers with a view of sparta that is like I imagined it.

I really don't want to ruin it too much, but at one point they build a wall of persian bodies to slow the persians down, it's great...

By far the greatest movie of all time (to me). We owe this movie coming to the big screen really to one man......Frank Miller. The same guy who wrote Sin City. The same guy that made comic book characters like Punisher, Dare Devil, Wolverine and Bat-Man some of the most popular characters of all time. Wrote a graphic novel intitled "300" and the book is almost verbatum (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) what the movie was. I loved it, I have already seen it twice (as I normally see comic movies 2-3 times, to give my share of appreciation to the industry). Oh and BTW thanks Haysoos, I'm glad I could be a form of entertainment for you and your girl.

A lot of action movies like to throw bullet time out there and shit like that, but did you notice how in 300 it would go between slow and faster than normal? The delivery of every blow is paced and timed right. Someone mentioned the sky having a supernatural look, and it does, so does the entire background. They've somehow managed to make a background seem epic!

I hear there will be more Sin City movies, I can't wait...

Yes, the scenery in 300 is done perfectly, its great that they do the best they can to get the movies to look damn close, if not exactly like the art in the novels, just like Sin City looked incredible, i got it the day it hit DVD, and i plan on doing the same for 300. I also agree on the cinematography, it was shot flawlessly in my opinion, bullet time effects are becoming overused, so it was great to see a new spin on the speed effect with action scenes like in this movie.


I've heard more on other Sin City movies as well, there are multiple novels and the first movie didnt cover them all, I too am highly excited and looking very forward to more Sin City.

Just got back from seeing 300 a second time, jsut as bad ass as the first lol. As for that number of persians killed...since i havent read the novel and my history memory is not the best lol, i would guess somewhere in the low thousands, maybe less, starting with the messengers at the beginning, then those you see already dead and becoming part of the wall, then there was the first wave which they took out at the start of the battle, then the Immotals, all the mounted riders, priests, and those atop the elephants, so not sure if thats a good estimate or not lol.

There is a bit of creative license in the movie, it's based of an comic book, not a history book. :D

The two times I've seen it, there was group laughing at parts, clapping, etc etc. Oh, and both times people clapped at the end.

awesome movie! i really like how they stay very faithful to the original comic in terms of dialouge and camera angles, its the way a comic book adaptation should be done! granted i guess spidey and all the other hero movies do have many more storylines and back issues to go through so it would be impossible to be 100% faithful.
