View Full Version : noob trying to do dpfi -> mpfi swap :D
i have a 92 hb civic 1.5lsi that has dpfi and i think its obd0.ok so i have some little guestions, if i take the whole MPFI intake manifold from d16z6 engine it means that i dont need resistorbox right? then i allso need ecu(pm6) and distributor from d16a6 right? and now comes my little problem, what kind of engine wiring harness do i need? from d16z6 or d16a6? because in finland i bealive that d16z6 is obd1...
so can the d16a6 wiring harness fit the manifold from d16z6? or am i just beeing too complicated
oh and my engine is d15b2

Ok so you want to do a dpfi to mpfi conversion. Now if you want to go a little more power while doing this conversion,Just go get a z6 Head and convert to vtec. Now i was going to do a dpfi to mpfi on my 91 hatch before i bought a new d16z6, And what i was instructed to do was go get the Z6 manifold the i believe you do need a resistor box but im not 100% sure on that. Also you do need a ecu (Pm6).
Now for the wiring harness you could go get A D16Z6 if you go vtec but if not you can splice into your stock harness right now and do it yourself.
from what i have learned a mpfi uses a resistor box and a dpfi does not. i did a mpfi conversion on mine. its easy

well that depends what mpfi u are using, if u use d16a6 then it has resistor box, and if u use d16z6 then u dont have resistorbox... im trying to figure out now that if i can use d16a6 harness with d16z6 mpfi...

92 and up hondas should all be obd1 already. check your ecu if it does'nt have a led in the center of the panel it's obd1

models that are saled in finland from 92-95 are obd0, only 1.6 esi vtec is obd1 in finland and the other better engines...
