Well, i want the best of both worlds if you know what I mean. I'm working with about $1,500 right now and still saving. My cousins got a 90 si with a sick d16y7, he seems to think that I should stay with a d series engine.

If you shop around, you can get that D16z6 w/ tranny & have money left for the ECU & wireing harness.

Good luck

& yes, stick w/ a D

Ive heard that d16z6 engines are notorious for spining rod bearings. Anybody else heard this rumor?

No.
My 1st z6 sun a bearing...but it had over 200k on it at the time. & questionable privius owner maintenance.

I thought that was an issue with the y7s? Do a search for spun bearing, and see what motor makes the most posts, but I've NEVER heard that about the Z6.

You can use a Dx tranny if you have one and don't want to buy an EX/Si, but it's worth it.

I am pretty sure eg hydro trannys don't fit EF's.. Look for an EF SI tranny. will have SL3 or L3 on it!

You can get a factory manuel off eVil-bay for about $5.
For the Engine, call you local salvage yards or shop on line. I don't kknow where you're located, but I used LKQ (800) 775-2710. They're a little high but you get a warranty
