bought these rods, used, all look good except 1.
looks liek it over heated and melted alittle. i cant explain it.
now, if not, can it be sent a machine shop and be repaired? i planed on sending them to get balenced anyway.
or can i replace just 1 rod, or do i have to buy a whole set?

you might be able to have a machine shop fix it and run oversized bearings.

That rod spun a rod bearing bad, a machine shop can fix it no problem.

i was thinking they might be able to, i dont have a problem running OS bearings, since the motor will be built anyway.

Easy fix just take it to a machine shop and put new bearings in it... Call it a day... Oversized bearings maybe

i whould worry about blueish discoloring wich shows extreme heat and may distemper the alloy and weaken the stuctural integrity of the rod.
i didnt see any from the pics but like ryan said why not buy some tt rods for hardley any more?
a local shop owner offered me a set of eagles that spun a bearring for $100.
i turned them down because of the discoloration. not worth it imo.
