hmotors.com might be able to help. or you can get an obd2-obd1 conversion harness and convert it over- this would be good if you plan on doing more with the motor later on, ie turbo etc. also xenocron.com has some good stuff to look at as far as chipping and whatnot. oh and there is two versions of obd2 ecus 96-98 is obd2a 99-00 obd2b they are different so make sure you know which you have or are getting

If you want to use your P2P ecu, your gonna have to convert to one vtec solenoid and use the D16y8 intake manifold. Itll work fine but keep in mind your gonna be on 12v mode from idle to 5500rpm there after vtec kicks in and the motor runs on full potential. You'll get awsome gas mileage.

i'm getting different information from different people.
one guy who is a mechanic at a honda dealership said to not use that engine without the proper ecu.
a guy i know suggested using a tach with a shift light. i can set the shift at 3500rpm (or whatever) and have the 12V go into the 1st solenoid to activate the first vtec boost, and hook my ecu vtec boost to the second vtec boost at 5600.. or whatever it is stock....
anyone have any experience with this engine? how can i check if it's odb2a or b?
help is much appreciated..
