Hi folks

I'm new to the site but already got loads of helpful info which is awesome.

Anyway to the problem, I've got an EJ9 D14A4 and having done some reading around on this site, and others, I'm getting some mixed info about how much I can really do with this set-up without major mods (which at this point are probably beyond my mechanical skills at this time).

I'm looking to get a little more poke out of my 90hp beast but am unsure of where my hard earned pennies would be best spent. Can anyone offer some suggestions bearing in mind my limited skills?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I have the same engine as you and have done a load of reading on various sites. What im going to do is D16z6 IM swap, intake, 4-2-1 header and exhaust. Won't cost that much and will prob help a little. Then leave it at that. If i want to swap at some point i could go for a D16z6 and the parts i have should still fit.

That's my plan anyway haha hope it helped.

Agreed! Turbo is a great upgrade especially at this low compression engine. The ideal would be to change the rods as well. If you move higher than 170hps it is essential! On the other hand i don't know how reliable turbo d14 would be after several years of use and around 160hps.
