I paid $45 or so for a set of Bombz Racing coilovers. Amazingly bouncy, I pretty much hate them. I should've just saved up for the G.C.'s I'll be getting in the next couple months in the first place.

It really depends on what you want out of them. If you're just driving around town, maybe some "spirited" driving, you should be okay. You also get what you pay for. $20 coilovers are exactly that, $20 coilovers. Don't do it. I regret purchasing mine for sure.

thanks for the input. on my other EF, i have some coilovers that i bought for 100 bucks from an import shop and mated them with tokico blue's. the coilovers look exactly like the 30 dollar ones on ebay. the suspension feels tight like if set up for auto-x. i was just thinking of saving some money since they look the exact same. so would you guys at leat get some name brand ones?

Just ht that search button and do "ebay coilover", there should be tons of threads about it.

If I remember right, most people consider them junk, don't buy, but some say it's alright for DD, but don't do it if you want to autox or drive seriously at all. Mainly, it's for people who like the look of a lowered car, but don't want to pay for the handling benefits...

you get what you pay for but the dropzone coilovers sold on ebay work really well and are relatively cheap.

You think we'd hold back :hammer:

More on topic, You get what you pay for. Figure out how you goingto use your car & what you budget is. Only then can you determin the appropriat mods

ive had a set of these, because they were given to me as an xmas gift. I will say that no matter what your budget is, or how you will use this vehicle. The springs are by no means safe in anyway. Like green said, there have been plenty of accounts of the sleeve mushrooming and the just dropping. The threads are not strong enough to hold up the car, nor is the metal strong enough to withstand the constant bouncing that you will be doing down the street.

If you see a lowered car bouncing around like a rap video... it has one of two things, chopped springs or ebay springs.

Be safe and just wait for a few more months and get some quality, proven springs.

Good advice :TU:

If you check the other ebay coilover threads, I'm sure you can find plenty of other options on a budget. I think the dropzone's are a popular deterant for the ebay no-names.

honestly i have done 100's of suspensions and coilover sleeves are junk. springs or full coilovers are the only way to go honestly. not only that but sleeves will void the warranty on your shocks. there are always exceptions to that of course. some sleeves come with matched shocks (high end ones like tokico or skunk 2). so there. As with any car part, spend the money on the good stuff, you get what you pay for.....
