see sticky at top of page :)

.004"

If doing OBX with B16 oil control ring, no real need to measure.

I think Ryan just "cringed" a bit :)

That is those thin rings in the bottom of the piston, right?
I put mine in today, and noticed some play, but not much. I guess it's within limits.

where have I ever said to use two oil rings?????

B16 oil rings are .5mm thick, the smallest OEM shim is 1.0mm. You should still look at the shim you remove, if you get a RARE ultra thick one, you might be able to use OEM shims.

You did spend $20 on a digital dial caliper right?????
What about $8 on feeler gauges?????

NO?????

Then you really have no business being inside of a tranny.

Actually, yeah we have both the digital dial caliper and the feeler guages. It was a simple question. I am not the one doing the transmission, it is a friend who has never installed an lsd, much less on a honda. BUT he does do transmission work and he just wanted to know the shimming was correct.

but i will tell him. ditch the stock shim and use ONE b16 oil ruing for shimming purposes.

thanks

ASSUMMING it's using a normal "thin" shim. Average shim thickness is 1.25-1.40mm, I have a BUNCH of them.
