Whatever you do, don't give in and buy Bosch. They're junk and took 10 mpg/ 20+ hp off of my civic. I've had pretty good experience with NGK or Champion plugs, but the NGKs would burn up sooner for some reason. On one properly gapped set of NGKs, I checked them at 20k miles and the gap was well over 0.100" . Weird thing was, it still ran normal. I've yet to have a Champion set with over 0.010" burnt off at 30k.

If it was me I'd go with the champion plugs

I personally had very good results with the bosch platinum number 4227 the plug fits all d and b series

NOOOOO stay away from Bosch Platinums! They totally screwed my D16Y8 up! By design they retard the timing (spark has to follow the ceramic insulator before it arcs) and kills power and economy! Stay away from them at all costs.

Not that its at pertinent, but Bosch Platinums made our 5.4L Triton F-250 sound like a powerstroke diesel. Almost exactly. Thats because some of the fuel ended up in the exhaust manifold before it burnt, thanks to the screwed up timing.

HMMMMM....retarded timing by design....loss of 10MPG and 20HP.

Really?

I'm sure there is rock solid data supporting this statement.

It says right in the brochure that the spark arcs across the ceramic before it jumps to the electrode. This is good for a long-lasting plug, but like anything it takes time to do it. My civic was so loud with those in, my only conclusion was the retarded spark. And yes, i could only get 26 highway for the six months they were in, and yes, it lost lots of power, there's no reason why older stock DX civics should be able to easily outrun my D16Y8. The Champions turned all that around.

I'm running Denso iridiums, which if your running nitrous is the only ones I'd recommend because a cheaper plug melted and jacked my number 3 cylinder up and put a small chip in one of the exhaust valves. When running nitrous the temperature handling of the plug is very important and I believe iridiums have the highest rated temperature handling. I also heard to stay away from platinum in nitrous applications. I know this is an NA column but any help is still help. I payed $40 which is expensive for plugs but who wouldn't if a sparkplug cost them around $500 dollars worth of damage. I can't really say if I noticed a performance difference because the engine had a couple more mods put in when the new sparkplugs went in. But I've put 10,000 miles on them and went thru at least 4-5 bottles of juice and they still look great.
Hope this helps

my stereo was free. all i need is a good cd player and i'm fine.

i'm glad that this topic came up again. i have been wondering how my mini me hatch got beat by a stock dx coupe the other day. maybe it's my bosch plugs. i'm gonna change them out for the NGK Civic HX plugs.

negative... mini-me + CX block=slow ASS hell. even with VTEC, you're probably not making 75whp. you need a d16 or d15b7 block do get your CR up to just under 10:1

In my D16Z6, I've found that the spark plugs listed in the owner's manual (93 Del Sol Si), that the Nippondenso spark plugs (for normal driving conditions, #KJ16CR-L11) are nice. Noticed no drop in gas mileage (might've even got an increase!), and nothing but silkly smooth idle and engine operation. Guess that's why it's in the owner's manual in the first place.

sounds like you really know what you're talking about. or maybe not. did you know that the b8 and b7 block and pistons etc are the same? with the flat top pistons that i have should get me the same compression as the a6 pistons in a z6. witch is about 11:1. i'm still beting that it's my timing and my plugs. i just wish that i had more time after work.
