So, I'm up in Utah visiting family for Easter and I went to Rocky Mountain Raceway dragstrip to watch the test n tune.
There was an EJ Coupe that had slicks and had an exospeed sticker and a sohc sticker on the windshield, so I knew it was a D series. Well, I wish I knew the whole setup this person ran, because the hood was shut, but this thing went 12.92 on the first run. I was way impressed until the next time around he went 12.27 @ 120 something mph. Whoa! It sounded like a little jet during the burn out. It was right when I was leaving, and this strip has a bridge that goes over the burnout box, so I was right above this car. He went up against a very stout DSM. Now, this DSM, when it launched, got sideways off the line. Its an awd. I think he was running 12's somewhere. So, when I look over at the coupe, it was just gone, like this dsm was slow man. The crazy part about this coupe d is this track is at 4400 ft elevation. That 12.27 run is high 11's minimum, probably faster. It was totally street car lookin'. Amazing. If anybody knows this guy or anyone from exospeed knows what the setup is, or even the general setup, I'd love to know.
Then, there was a hatch eg with slicks, again totally streeted out. Real sleeper like. It also had exospeed sticker on the windshield but no sohc evidence. This thing ran 10.70 at 130 something mph. Yikes! Amazing!
