the car i have is an ex and came with the d16z6 but an automatic tranny. it's labeled M24A on the tranny but wondering is this an ex tranny? or did they even make an ex tranny that was an automatic? if not then what is the M24A auto tranmission? and are the gear ratio's any good and what setup would be recommended such as boost or n/a? thanks

no matter what you do powerwise a manual tranny swap should be your #1 priority

I side with Jimmy, i dont know if theres a way to tell an Auto DX/LX/EX but i do know there is a difference.

However 5spd is the way to go :TU:

Why didnt you find out what it was before you rebuilt it? Might have saved you some headaches if you rebuilt an LX tranny

lol. yea couldn't find any info on the specs of the tranny, thats why i made a post asking..lol. to EG8SIR, where did the lx tranny talk come from? what r u talking about?. but i guess im hearing the M24A fits most applications for civics in the 92-00 models. supposively it's a JDM tranny. and yea i did save money from doing a rebuilt than auto to manual swap. and this tranny has been doing great since 2 yrs ago. ( on boost)..

from what i heard the s20 were the si/ex tranny from 92-95 civics. is it possible that the tranny i have can be an si/ex but an automatic one. thanks for the opinions everyone!!!!!!!!!.
