Is a torque plate absolutely necessary for having a block bored out .020". This is for a N/A motor built to the SCCA Street Prepared rule set so we're talking essentially stock compression ratios (D16A6).

well it all depends u will get people to say yes and some say no. but i say it depends how u bore it. i did my motor .030" over bore and i did two passes each cut was .010" and u go in a certian order of the cylinder u have to bore it starting with the number 3, then, 4, then, 1 then 2 and this alows the cylinders to cool then i took it to the hone and did the left over .010 on the hone and i had all the measurement within half of a thousanth with is a lot closer than u need a stock motor!! good luck
