Looking to do some video editing and was wonder what everyone is using and if they like it.

What kind of are you going to make?
Is for streaming or TV?
PC or MAc?

I have a sony dvd cam and I just want to be able to take the videos off the lil 1.4Gb disk's and compose, add music,words and such. All to be done on a pc. THanks

If you're just looking for something simple, go with the windows movie maker. Comes bundled with XP SP2 and should do what you want. If you're a more avid video buff you can step up to premiere (or final cut if you're a mac user) and really do some cool stuff.

Only issue with using the windows movie maker is that it will only let you save as wmv, so no avi/divx encoding through that :?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I have windows movie maker and used it before and it turned out alright. I just need to rip the dvd from the dvd, do what I like then record it back to dvd format. I'll have to look into that premier elements. Thanks
