View Full Version : Upgrade Order & Advice

Hey All,

So I have a 91 CRX DX and I have most of the upgrades I want to do in mind. But being a noob I justw ant to get some advice on them and maybe some info on the best order to do them in. The erason I ask about order is because I am not loaded with cash so will be doing them in increments.

Engine:

D16Z6 or D16Y8 Swap (automatic, not changing to manual tranny)
-ARP head studs, Skunk2 intake and catback, sms products header, aem cam gear, crwoer cam etc etc...

Wheels and Suspension:

-Koni Yellows, Eibach Pro Series
-I have some Enkei 16" rims I am happy with.

Alarm:

-Viper or Compustar haven't chosen yet.

I know I am missing something so feel free to lambast me. :bravo:

an na build and staying automatic isnt worth doing anything...
thats wasting alot of money for maybe half a second in the 1/4 or so

Understood. I was planning on eventually doing a Jackson Racing supercharger. But this car is my daily driver as well so I wasn't planning on a manual conversion, I live in a very hilly neighborhood and city in general.

id say go for the Z6 or Y8 swap. hows your tranny though?

So far the tranny has been working with no issues, it slipped into neutral two times over the alst month though... I wa sthinking of looking into whatever more powerful auto trannys might be out there, but like I said I don't know much.

I would do the engine swap last. If you really want a z6 or y8 motor. you can mod the motor you have now with parts that can be changed over to the new engine.

whats that have to do with any thing i live near I75 busiest traveled highway in the country for a 7 mile trip to get to school it takes me 40+ minutes and everything i own is a stick? suck it up and drive it like you stole it!

auto = poopy (unless its a 500hp muscle car or a tank?)
