I was thinking about doing a mini-me swap and i was debating whether to do it myself or pay someone...i found a shop in my area in San Bernadino and they are willing to do it for 500...is that a good price? The mechanic told me the parts consist of new belt, water pump, head gasket, Low miles,y8 or z6 head,p28 ecu to use vtec, vtec oil pump, and jumper harness to convert to odb1 and with warranty...how does that sound??? Also, does anyone know any good shops around Inland Empire or Orange County??
if its 500 parts included i'd probably go for it...
you need a new head and headgasket, timign belt, obd1 ecu and distributor, and jumper, bare minimum. water pump is just a 'might as well do it beacuse now is the time ' thing, which isnt a bad idea. oil pump is the same between vtec and non, so dont do that.
you could probably do it yourself for less, i dunno.

not sure about the shops around u but for that price u can get a D15B str8 from the mother land but one thing for sure he basically did a engine swap with out the bottom end tell him to show u proof of this warranty but it doesn't sound half bad!!!
