iirc the most you should have to do is grind a little off the caliper, but that may just be for the 96-00 EX/SI's

14's should fit over them.

14's came on the Si, so you shouldnt have any problem fitting them on.

slow down guys. my 93 coupe came with 14's but HX wheels won't fit without spacers. the question comes down to this; do you have 9" brake rotors, or 10" brake rotors? if you've got the 10's, chances are good the HX wheels won't fit without a spacer.

either you've never actually put HX wheels on a civic, or you've never seen an EX trim one. i bought my HX wheels from a guy that used them on his type-r swapped 98 EX. he had to use spacers on the front. my 93 EX needed the spacers too. my 93 Si does not.

I was waiting for some one to say that I personally have Si del sol rims on my EF

I thought the 13" VX wheels were the only ones that required grinding the calipers, but IDK because I could never actually find any in my area!

Thanks man, you dont need spacers, you dont need to shave the caliper down, just put on and go :TU:.

funny because I have to have spacers on mine, or they wouldnt fit. 95 civic ex, bigger brakes, and have to get a spacers or grind it down some. Either you havent worked with larger brakes, or you just thought the fitment issue could be solved with just tightening them down harder.

But the answer has been given. They can fit, with ease!

you are the only person I have ever met that has said they have had no fitment issues getting these rims on ex civics. I would venture to guess that you would be the only man in the world that has tried this without one problem with the change. I will guess that yours were already ground down to fit this size rim over this size of brake.

p.s. after a quick search on as many forums as possible, I have never found one instance in which this will work without a spacer. The offset is off by +5, the spokes of the rim will not fit over the caliper unless the caliper is ground down or a spacer is used!

bryank20, what size brakes did your 95 EX have? i'll bet you $100 it had 9" front rotors. you see, not ALL EX civics came with 10" front brakes.

the fitment depends on rotor size, period. if you have 10" brake rotors, you will not be able to fit HX wheels on your car without spacers. a Del Sol S probably has 9" front rotors and drums in the back. the Del Sol DOHC VTEC has 10" rotors on the front. 4-wheel disc civics have 9" front rotors. front disc/rear drum EX civics have 10" front rotors, but not all of them (particularly in the 92-95 generation). a Del Sol Si with the SOHC vtec motor is a bit of an oddball. If it is 4-wheel disc w/abs it could very well have 10" front rotors. if not, and it's just 4-wheel disc then it probably has 9" rotors. if your car takes the standard civic front pad that they've had since forever, you've got 9" front brakes. i'd love to give a more concrete answer, but i haven't worked on a lot of del sol's to know for certain. i do know that bryank20's statement is flat out wrong though.

i have no clue. And im not trying to start a war, i was just clearly stating that the HX wheels fit my EX with no problems.

well, that statement is quite a bit different then;

never had a problem fitting HX wheels on ANY 92-00 Civic...

my emphasis on "any".

just sayin....

My God... that's the most I've learned about Civic/Sol brakes in one paragraph than I've read from an entire article. :smile: Pretty concrete to me. :TU:
