raced a 06 saleen today

well... i just hit 2k on the motor since i put it back in.. i like to take it easy on a motor thats been sitting for a few months, im running the z1 block with y8 head at 12 psi on a t3 .42 .48..

anyway lol. i was going to see my cousin and saw a 06 saleen mustang on the freeway and thought.. hmm i wonder how fast those are.. i really dont like racing in public.. im the kinda take it to the track guy but there wasnt much traffic...

so i pull up next to him revved it a little and he gave me a thumbs down.. so i was like wtf?? fag, i dropped 3rd and hit it just to show him what it can do.. i slowed down a little to let him catch up he looks over to me and gives me this evil grin.. so i dropped 3rd hit 90 shifted to 4th got to 128 shifted to 5th and had the speedo straight down and lifted.. he was about a car ahead of me.. he slowed down next to me and gave me a thumbs up..lol that made my day

d15z1 block y8 head ( 8.04:1 compression ) t3 .42 .48 440cc dsm blue tops at 12 psi street tuned using the dx tranny... i freaking hate the dx tranny its in the gear soo long.. and the only shift worth a shit is the 3rd to 4th...

apparently my friend ( the one who knows everything ) said that saleens arent supercharged or anything.. they are all motor with a ground effects kit and rims with some motor mods... so idk wtf... either way im happy with the results.. i just need to learn to be careful on the freeway messing around on stock pistons.. i really dont wanna crack a ringland

The MSRP on the supercharged ones are roughly $53,000 vs the $40,000 of the n/a ones.

Saleens come supercharged and turbo charged I thought...? Either way, they don't make them slow! 400+ at the least, but some can go up to 7-800hp I thought, could be wrong on that top number there.

I don't believe any of the saleen cars (84 to present) came turbocharged. You might be thinking of the SVO cars . . . 2.3 with a t3.

My bad, now that I remember, I was reading some dude turbo'd a saleen. I'm not sure what the results are, my buddy and his dad are HUGE mustang fans (good mustang guys) and he was telling me about it.

yea im pretty sure it was the supercharged one.. it had the dual guage pod in the center of the dash... either way it was quick.. and it was bitchen to see a muscle guy gimme a tumbs up... nothin like gettin some respect:alky:

saleens dont come turbo

most saleens run just a bit faster than a GT. cool thing about saleens is they have the insurance of a v6 mustang because they just pull the chasis off the line and build it from the ground up. faster than a gt but insurance of a v6. neat little fact.
