If you aren't worried about emissions, dont waste money on a "cat" If you do care get an actual hi-flow cat like the ones RandomTechnology make. Otherwise just straight back...

Screw cats, run an open downpipe. You want the least amount of back pressure possible...

well it depends on where he wants his power, in the low rpm or high rpm. if he goes with the high rpm then an open down pipe could be better, but if he wants low rpm power put the cat on. also if u decrease the amount of back pressure in the exhaust it will lower ur gas mileage a lil bit, because there isnt enough back pressure to support the EGR valve, so the cylinder will be filled with more air/fuel mixture using more gas. so to ur comment about the least amount of back pressure. thats not always the best thing it all depends on what rpm rage that he wants most of his power to be produced, and also if he is worried about his gas mileage or not.

I dont think it is going to kill his gas mileage so bad that he will notice it, and the open downpipe doesnt hurt your rpms at all. When I had open downpipe on and then put the full exhaust setup on for winter I didnt notice any difference in the rpms or gas mileage. The turbo is going to spool quicker with the open downpipe on, also it sounds badass LOL...

if he has a turbo then that would be correct but from reading his sig it says turbo coming soon, so i guess i would be assuming that we are not talking about a turboed motor. but it is in fact true that if u increase the size of ur exhaust and decrease the back pressure it does change the rpm power range, the least amount of back pressure will give u more high rpm power, and the more the back pressure will give u more low rpm power.

I was assuming he was turbo...
