I have a 96 civic EX, stock Y8 and tranny. Anyways, for past couple weeks my 3rd gear grinds when i am driving it hard. Its not a big grind, but no matter how far the clutch is in, or how long I keep it down, it grinds. So obviously the synchro is starting to wear, right?
Secondly, I noticed this last night, going from 4th ro 3rd, no matter what style of driving it feels EXTREMELY mushy, its doesn't have that click/popping in and out of gear like it used to. Going from 3rd to 4th it is still fine, it just seems to happen when I am taking the car out of 4th. Why is this? It does not grind, feels mushy, really mushy.
I beleive it still has the stock tranny fluid, so it may need some new fluid. I am going to try GM synchromesh and hope that it cleans these problems up some. Has anyone on here had experience with synchromesh?
