Its going to be a pain from what i can tell. but to start can i make it work, its going in an eg. From what i gathered ignition timing was controlled through vacuum, so what distributor will i have to use?

maybe an obd1 dohc zc dizzy...might be hard to find though
my guess is the best way is to convert to obd0 mpfi, and then convert to obd1 from there. im not 100% sure though...

You'll need at least OBD-1 injectors (unless you want to wire in a resistor box for some reason), OBD-1 DOHC ZC distributor, OBD-1 LS ECU (or OBD-1 DOHC ZC ECU if you can find one).
My guess is that you'll also want/need an OBD-1 IM/TB.

i appreciate the responses, any ideas where i can find the obd1 distributor? something else i noticed is that the engine mount (top driverside ) is on the power steering bracket and sits far to the front of the motor. It does not have the 2 bolts like any other motor would, will i be able to install the bracket on the motor

a z6 IM wont fit a d16a1 : (. So i guess im going to run the obd0 injectors i definantly need a resistor box? also the plug for the TPS is differnt but it is still 3 wires and they are the same color. can i just wire in the obd0 plug to the obd1 and everything work fine? I also believe i will need a z6 clutch to use the z6 tranny? will i need to change the flywheel also?

Are you talking about using a zc or a d16a1? The d16a1 will not bolt in to a 5th gen without custom mounts and the z6 tranny will not bolt up to the d16a1 and here's a obd1 zc distributor http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DOHC-OBD1-2nd-Gen-JDM-ZC-Engine-Ignition-Distributor_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33690QQihZ0 10QQitemZ200057695825QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
