Hey guys,

Can anybody help me with this d16a8 motor problem. I have read that it is the same as a zc motor. I have a 1994 civic coupe that had a d15b7 sohc. The ecu is a P06 with all stock wires.
I now have a 1993 d16b8 pgm-fi dropped in it now. I rewired the distributer and ran the wires for the temp sensor in the back of the motor. I dont have the stock wiring harness for the d16 so i just switched out the injectors so i could use the harness that was in the car before the swap. Now i have read that i have to wire up a resistor for the injectors is this true?
I have done all i have read from the net and the car wont run. I have looked and looked i cant seem to figure it out. Plus on the d16a8 om the back of the intake is something that i dont know where it plugs into. Anybody that has one of these motors can you give me a hand. I took some pictures on the intake looking at it from the front it is the thing on the left. Thanks guys

The thing on the back fo your intake manifold could be a FICV (Fast Idle Control Valve).

If you used the injectors that cam in the car originally, then no, you don't need to add any resistors.

Are you saying that you connected the D16A8 engine harness to the vehicle harness?
That valve over is so rockin'!

take a look at ZCspeed.com there is all the info you need on there for swaping in a DOHC ZC . did you wire up the cam angle sensor ??? i have the same engine in a 1990 CRX DX

Hey guys,

Yes i did wire up the cam angle sensor from the dx wire harness. The FICV as the The_Acid_Beaver said. It has two wires out of it and i have nothing to plug it into. This is going to drive me to drink again. I have all the plugs in the right places even the map sensor that is now an external one. The map sensor used to be in the top of the intake on the d15b7. It still wont run. Does any body have any info on this motor and i guess can i use a p06 ( 92-95 obd-1 civic dx ) ecu?

Hey JHTUNING did you have any problems with your d16a8 ? I did read the stuff on the zc but they say i will have to wire up the injectors did you?
