Does anyone on this board actully have an Akmee Cam kit?

I'v read all the threads, and looked at the website. The dyno graphs looks very appealing. But with as much buzz they have created, i havn't seen one person on here that actually owns thier parts. They only accept un-secure payment methods (IE. paypal, check and MO). I know the guy is on the board here, but i'm not sending anyone a check or MO, and paypal is hardly secure.....Wonder if they would do business vie C.O.D?

Bottom line: Does anyone actually have these parts?

COD costs more, and they're at a loss if the reciever doesn't pay. Not really good on their end.

How are checks not secure? You can prove you paid and take it to small claims. Money order isn't as secure but it insures they're getting their money. I don't see why you say Paypal is not secure either; Plenty of people use it with no problems and if you don't get your shit, you can file a complaint.

A complaint does absolutly nothing if the person you paid empties thier bank account...I'm glad you havn't had any problems in the past but i'd be a little bit more careful..

ill b running the type s cam soon when i pay for them and the product arrives. Frank has been pretty good to me and update all of my emails so you just have to persist.

ill update you on the cam if you like when i receive it and run dyno graphs.

im all the way in australia so that if it comes this far... he should be ok.

If you look at my post and READ it correctly, it says nothing about emptying the payers bank account....however if you send me $100 and i send you nothing....you file a complaint...however in the mean time, i'v emptied MY bank, you are S.O.L. Hey Tim,

What I would do is just get the Crower Stage 2 cam instead of the Amkee. The Amkee Type S camshaft is basically a low budget version of the Crower Stage 2 as the Type R is the Crower Stage 3. As I'm sure you and I both know, Crower is a reputable company and you can be assured that you'll get the merchandise you order.

That however is not to imply that Amkee is not a reputable company, however I have heard mixed reviews so at this point I can understand your level of apprehensiveness. Otherwise though, I would also suggest that you communicate your point w/ other board members a bit better. There are alot of great members here that are more than willing to help but you won't get far fast refering to them as retards....even if they did misread your post.

I did COD once, it turned out fine. But I believe I did it with Fedex or it might have been UPS. I got the package, but wasn't able to open the package before I gave them a MO............ So, unless the carrier is hella cool. COD is weak, unless it's diff. through diff. companies. I mean the point of using COD is to make sure you acutally get the right thing. The box could be filled with rocks.

IMO, looking at the stock D15B/Z6 camshaft, I'm not really impressed with aftermarket camshafts for the D-series VTEC. My next camshaft is either a Exospeed or JGE regrind.

Id go with the crower stage 2 or 3 ...you will get the cam and it will be a good product , no bullshit ordering,emails,etc...just order from crower or tunerschoice.com and live happy!

hard for one person to run the whole show.. i hope you guys can understand this.. like all small companies when they start they need just a few loyal customers to stick it out and wait for the product.. i guess the starting days will make the company or break the company..

we can support him all we want but his just lazy! he doesn't care about his customer. i know, cuz i've been trying to set something up so i can buy his product but he always changes his mind. he said his going to be here in L.A at this date with the product... next thing i know his telling me that he wont be able to bring it. then i tried to set up a plan for us to meet again cuz he said he will be here in L.A again, then later i receive no call. then i told him to just email me the address so i can just send the payment but he never email it. then the worst part is, the guy try to rip me off! he said he will sell the prototype intake manifold to me for less than $200 then when i finally got the money and spoke to him again he said $215 ($15 for shipping). at first he said that the manifold will cost $225 for a new one, thats why he will just sell to me for less than $200 since it's prototype. then his charging $215 for prototype (the one in his car before). that guy just full of shit! he said he will be here in L.A today and call me, and im still waiting for his call, i dought he will call me.. i feel bad for some of the people here who had order their product and end up waiting for a long time to receive it. sorry for my poor english.

i actually was vacationing in SF so i was able to pick it up in person. Frank (ghettoracer) is busy and out of town when i was there a week ago. so as far as shipping times, you'd have to talk to him personally, he is quick on the emails and always answered the phone.

ive just received my TYPE S cam early yesterday morning

and i installed the cam is in yesterday afternoon.. with alot of help from my work mates.i have adjusted the tappets and just left the cam on 0... so havent really tuned the cam as yet.

i havent put the valve springs or the retainers in yet.. so far i have only hit vtec once.. since im sorta just wanting to run in the cam.

so far on my butt dyno it makes a bit more torque.. and a bit lumpier on idle.

so once i have run in the cam and have installed the valve springs and retainers.ill have a dyno sheet to show people.

will also b taking the car down the 1/4 when everything is ok ..
