Tranny wierd issue

I was driving my car on 5th gear, then I have to slow down, but the shiftter was stuck, I can not move the shifter to any place, finally I could go to 3rd, but no 1st, 2nd, 4th, and reverse.

I keep driving on third, when I realize I have all the gears again with no problem, any ideas???

Please help.

exploded input shaft bearing.....the EXACT thing happened to me driving home one night.

im guessing that the bearing exploded and lost about half of the balls from the raceway, causing the shatf to drop and not allow you to go into gear.

did you have an annoying whine throughout your gears while the clutch was engauaged before it happened?

well. you can, but I'd be scared it would happen again. Have you bottomed out recently? maybe your shift linkage is bent.

can you even get it into gear anymore? what happened with mine was that it got stuck into 5th and i had to rip it out like you did. i checked reverse and it would not go into revers, yet would go into all other gears.

I thought it would be okay to drive as long as i watched where i parked. about 100ft out of my drive way when cant get it into 3rd gear, nor 4th, nor 5th, and i couldnt get it back into second or first either. I pulled over and had my brother push may car so it was turned around. while he was pushing it i kept trying to get it into any gear. i finally got it into first gear and drove it home like that. i pulled my tranny and it was my ISB bearing causing the problem.

try driving it, but only in front of your house. see if it consistantly goes into gear everytime..........im willing to bet that it will begin to act up not allowing you to go into any gear again.
