As the title says, i'm in the middle of getting this car ready for my buddy to drive to florida in a couple weeks and when putting it all back together i noticed that the passanger side lower balljoint stud(which didn't have a nut on it) is stripped to shit! :cussing:

So, my question is could i just replace the lower balljoint? or do i have to replace the whole knuckle? (god i hope not)

I wasn't too sure on this because i'm no suspension Guru, so any help is appriceited. <---can't spell by the way!

the lower, can be pressed in/out, most shops dont change much.... just take them the part, and the new joint and your good to go....:TU:

You can buy a ball joint c-frame press from harbor freight for like $40. I have one and it works great.

To remove the ball joint from the lower arm, yea those will work, but to remove the actual ball joint you need it pressed out.

pic of the harbor freight tool; I was installing a 92-95 LBJ on EX knuckles. works :)

The stud is part of the ball joint

if you're a gangster like me you can beat it out with a hammer, then knock the new one back in with a hammer

just a few minutes actually. Soaked it down with some Pb Blaster, friend held the knuckle out, hit it about 15 good hard times with the BFH.

been there, did it to both sides......

helps to have the proper sized ring so you don't damage the new balljoint.
