My turbo civic got stolen http://www.b20vtec.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81643 :( police found the shell the next day, everything underneath the hood is gone. and those bastards even cut my main harness. I was going to dump the shell but then people started donating parts to me and decided to do a rebuild. My car obviously is not going to be the same it once was (ps, a/c cruise control) therefore i decide i'll sell it after i'm done rebuilding. My friend donated his d15b2 from his 93 civic cx hatch back (70hp I belive) Do you guys think its worth putting a vtec head on that block and turbo it? will that block handle about 180whp? Do i even need a vtec head to achieve 180whp on that motor? thanks in advance

180 with a good tune maybe but I don't think you a vtec head to achieve that since the head bumps compression anyways

mpfi with something a little better than the a6 cam and turbo, you'd be close to 180 if not more.

what security did you have on the car?

I'm boosting and MPFI swaping my car...gonna through a a6 cam for a little more agressiveness until I can build either an a6 or z6 vtec and boost that

do a search for d15b and look at the threads by makku. i have that engine and its a d15b sohc vtec engine same as the d16z6 sohc vtec but has i little shorter stoke and differant pistons. (130h.p.) the cam is supposed to be more aggressive then the d16z6 also so keep that head. it's a little runner but i have seen in the "stock Block Turbo Reality" thread that it can be run as high as 15 p.s.i. at about 220 whp with stock internals. rods are same as the d16z6 but you would have to special order the pistons. do some reserch.
