retarding the cam moves peak power higher in the rpm range, and advancing it moves it lower. reading what people have done, it seems to be worth a few horsepower to retard the cam 3 degrees. i wouldnt go more than that though.

how does one go about retarding an oem cam? do you disconect the dizzy and take the belt off then turn the cam back a couple degrees or what?

one tooth on the cam gear is equal to 9 degrees so i wouldnt recommend doing that. you have to use an adjustable cam gear.

well i figured to use an adjustable cam gear but how do you tune it? what needs to be taken off in order to retard the cam gear?

there are notches on the cam gear that indicate certain degree incraments. you will see where zero is, and it should be labeled which way is plus(advance) and which way is minus(retard). just put it where you want it, i wouldnt go more than three degrees either way, and then adjust your spark timing, or overall timing,( sorry. i dont know the correct terminology) when you are done. it is pretty simple.

right on. hope it works out for you. if you can get it on a dyno you will be able to see the where the gains are and get it dialed in perfect for your car.

yeah i really want this new car dialled in perfectly. running at 15psi on the boost and tunned with hondata s300. that stage 2 turbo cam should really unleash the turbo even more. im thinkin less spool up time :)
