It's a screen shot, but if you look at the top of the screen...you see where it says honda/civic/mike b???? Yeah, I'm Mike B. So let me eliminate any b.s. about whether or not this is my dyno sheet. Ask anyone at AJP, they were all there making this happen. Enjoy:thumb:

Thanks for all the love!!! Oh God, this thing is amazing. VTEC at 4200, rev limit at 8600. As you can see, it makes power all the way to the rev limiter.
Vids are in progress, I'm waiting for a nice day where you can actually see what's going on in the video instead of just headlights.
I've got a race set up for next weekend with an 06 GTO and I'll be recording that, so you'll see the vid when it's over.
We had some heat-soak issues on the dyno b/c we ran it hard all the way there, then just jumped on the dyno and started doing pulls. I've got the Hondata IMG sitting in my garage, but it doesn't do much good unless it's in the car. The car this kit is replicated from made 381whp at about 8psi.
My goal is 400whp at 10psi.

Alright. I was at Sonic on Beach and St. Johns on Saturday night. Quite a few people out there actually. Just not the old crew that was around a few years ago. Lots of young kids.
According to Honda, the stock bottom end is rated to handle 475whp. Axles too. The stock clutch is grabbing like a champ still and I know a few other guys in S. Florida that have had the same set up for about 7K miles with no clutch issues.
NoahD- are you talking about Steve's hatch from Velocity Trends?

so when can we expect to see 10psi
Street2uned
12-04-2006, 03:33 PM
As soon as All Jap sends me the ECM with a boost-cut that is raised above 9psi.
Right now it's cold out, so it'll boost creep up to the boost cut on occasion. But usually it'll only happen when I take it all the way to 8600. I haven't had a need to do it while racing anyone yet, I shift at about 7k. I just take it all the way up there for fun. I'm trying to get my rev limit raised to 9k, and my boost cut raised to 11 or 12psi, so I have room when it does boost creep.

Yes, it cost $8k, but it wasn't just for the turbo set up. I had a few other goodies, like a fuel return system, golden eagle fuel rail, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, full 3" exhaust, Hondata reflash, plus having the originating company do the installation, plus dyno runs. Normally you get 3 dyno pulls, but we did about 15...for the same price. They were VERY picky about how the car ran and drove before I left the shop and made sure every little thing including each individual zip tie was in it's proper place.
I'll work on gettin' some video footage for you guys:)

Hell yeah! No seat belt, practically sitting on the ground.
Nah, I won't blow it up. This kit was built to be safe and powerful. I opted for the upgraded fuel system and the ECM has a few safety features built in to keep you from blowing it up...not to say that it still isn't possible...lol.
These cars seem to be built for boost...it's crazy....11:1 compression and it craves boost.

Oh yeah, I know. My kit was only 4600, but I had plenty of things added on to make the price jump like that. I've seen the boosted R18 at AJP's shop...nice set up. Just working out the kinks. TONS of low end torque. The turbo is a 16g, off an EVO. The damn thing did a burn out on the dyno!

The big piece of plastic that is at the bottom of the windshield, comes off with 3 clips. And there is a metal piece that spans across the engine bay, right below that, which comes out after you take off the 4, 12mm bolts. Kind of a pain in the ass...especially when you have to take it off just to swap spark plugs. But it keeps the engine bay looking clean and hides the turbo as well. If someone that doesn't know what they're looking at, peeks in the engine bay, they have no idea that it's boosted. I've had a few people look at it and scratch their head and ask..."so what did you do to it again?" haha

Yes, the manifold is cast into the head. But if you imagine an HF manifold with the collector facing the radiator instead of the ground...it looks like that. So where the runners meet, it has bolts that are used for the turbo to be mounted.

I'm not bashing anyone for what I'm about to say, just stating a fact. When people hear that a car has XXXwhp they assume that it is always pushing that much when you drive it. But you only see that hp and the motor only sees that stress when you are at that boost level and driving it hard.
Personally, I still drive mine like I stole it. I have since I left the dealership when it had 4 miles on it. It's impressive how far Honda has come with the development and design of the their motors.

awesome #'s on your civic...too bad you are working off reflashes, you'd probably make alittle more being able to tweak out your cam angles, ignition and fuel a bit more...not sure if hondata has made kpro work on the K20Z's...eventho i think its working on the 05-06 RSX's...

Ehhh......First of all......I would NEVER let anyone drive my 40,000 dollar car or whatever how much that thing costs....let alone a 14 year old kid drive a SHELBY MUSTANG?> is his dad fucking stupid or wut?> being nice is one thing.....letting someone take control of something so powerful at a young age...is another....thats why the price tag reads so high.....most people who can afford shit like that...are supossed to be "resonsible" type people....after all....they made the money the right way to achieve what they had? correct?>
