With the newer hydraulic transmissions, it doesn't matter. I would assume that it's the same for the older cars.

if its an 88 the input shaft has a different spline count from the 90 91.I have no clue about the 89.

which is why i asked what vehicle it was going in

so if i buy a new clutc and fly whheel it'll matter about the year of the flywheel.ok, ill break it down since im bored...

look above the oil fill plug, there should be a stamp in the casing...

if it reads:
PL3/3000, 6000, 9000, B000, B1000 = SI/ZC
PL3/A000, A100, A200 = HF/STD/DX

as for what year clutch you need:
21 spline input shaft = '88
20 spline input shaft = '89-'91.

'88 flywheel surface is 190mm
'89 flywheel surface is 200mm
'90-'91 flywheel surface is 212mm

SOOO, '88 and '89 have unique clutches from '90-'91. BUT, if you put a '90+ flywheel in your '89, you can now use the 212mm '90+ clutches. '88 requires the '88 clutch.

any other questions?

^ 90-91 EX is also coded like HF/STD/DX.

I'd rep you if I could.
