I'm just wondering what block would be better for my turbo build I have a D16z6 block and a D16A6 block, I plan on building on NA motor and a turbo motor the turbo motor will be a daily driver motor and the NA motor just for fun. so what block would be better for each? the A6 has steel mains so I was leaning towards that for the turbo motor and I wanna block post the turbo motor so I need to know what block to post. I would like to make about 300HP on the turbo motor I have a T3 turbo for it with a .60/.48 AR I'm not sure if that will make that kind of power tho. for the turbo motor I have the eagle rods with ARP2000 rod bolts, ARP heads studs, vitara pistons, and I plan on block posting it too will that bottom end hold that kind of power?

I'd go with the a6 also for the turbo built. But instead of running a straight t3. You might want to go with something a little bit bigger. A buddy of mine had a T3T4oE 50 trim and at 20psi he made 323whp. And this was just on a street tune.

Why would you go with the A6? What advantages does it have over the Z6?

Got Vtec?

I would say z6 because of the after market support.

I was just wondering if the steel mains gave any strength to the bottom end or not incase I felt I want more power sometime or just insurance, and I'm sure it does so I'll just go with the A6 bottom end for the turbo build.

go with what you have. no need to buy a different one

I have both blocks already but the Z6 block has the eagle rods in it already, but two cylinders have low compression so I will be rebuilding it anyway.

Go with the Block that doesnt need to be bored as much or honed as much....There both great blocks....after this point, look into which block has the better of the "quality" to insure you get the best bet for your turbo build....Then use the other block for N/a....Ehhh the head though i would go with a Ported Y8 head instead of anything else, and just keep the rest of your valvetrain stock...

for boost i would stay away from the y8 head. there are some timing issues that have to be worked out with it vs. the z6.

most guys that build y8's swap a z6 head onto it

Humm....Ryan if you can tell me, whats the deal with the Timming issues on the Y8 head? sure its been covered, but ive never came across on to much info about it....
