hi guy's
After building several B-series engine's. I am planning to build a NA d16y8 engine..But i before I do that, I would like to hear your oppinion on the setup that I want to put together..
ALSO keep in mind that i will be using 98 octane fuel( I live in belgium )
Setup
D16z6 block
d16a1 integra pisons
stock rods
ACL racing series engine bearings
d16y8 Cilinderhead
fully port and polisched
crower 3 cam
ISKY valvesprings and retainers
bolt ons
skunk2 intake manifold
b16a2 throttlebody
Injen cold air intake
what woud you change in this setup?

Looks good, but wouldn't the a1 pistons put you at a compression yeild of 12 something? Even with 98 octane might need a good tune. But overall looks like a good setup. Instead of the bolt ons I'd probably run ITB's. A guy on H-T made 134whp with just ITB's alone on a stock d16z6.
Seems like a good setup. You should be careful with those piston along with the stage 3.
Might want to machine the valve relief pockets for proper clearance. Other than that, I like it.
Pretty much the same setup I have... Made 152 PS to the wheels, with a DC Sports 4-2-1 header.
Next step i a closer ratio tranny.
Regarding ITBs, they seem to be a bit of a hassle to tune... 12:1 compression is plenty doable on higher octane fuel (93 in the states).
I have 12,2:1 compression on RON98 fuel (equal to US 93 octane fuel I think), and everything is good.
But tuning is key :TU:

I have also build ITB's on a stock d16z6..car had 166.5 engine hp..with stock exhaust.. And I would like to build them on this engine to..but the problem is that in belgium it's forbiden..so therefore I must keep a normal looking intakemanifold.
about the compression ratio.. I have read someware on this forum that i you combine a d16z6 block together with a d16y8 head and a1 rods you will get a compression ratio of 11.3:1...using a 2mm head gasket...please correct me if I am wrong
S 18..what kind of setup do you have? I like the numbers.
