i would never put on a turbo from ebay...id order the turbo kit with intercooler, then id sell the turbo, and buy either a turbonetics or garrett

some have good luck and some have bad luck.
several people use these turbos and have NO complaint whatsoever...........but they use oil restrictors, which is a must!
you only hear the horror stories, so please, if it works, make sure and do a product review....

My friend put one of those on this car, it last maybe 8 hours. He put it on the car early in the day. He came out to a meet that night and boom, it went out. I wasnt there so I dont know if he did it right, but its not like its that hard.

If you put a 90 degree bend right after the outlet, it will see 25.

Measure between the outlet and the bend.

Its a joke. I know the internet isn't the best place for sarcasm. If you have 90 degree bends it cuts the flow by 40 whatever percent. Therefore if you measure before it, all you read is backpressure. The gauge says 25, but the motor actually sees maybe 10 or so. On a 06 srt-8 I tuned, a novi 1200 setup had 3 90 degree bends in it. It was pullied for 14lbs but it only made ~400rwhp.

tushe` ryan tushe`. serious note though. you can only push them so much, (granted they arnt crap) before they just stop making power. if your turboing the right way, and not ghettoing anything then youre set up wont perform at its full potential. i say build youre kit around your turbo. after all (other than tuning) the turbo is the key element too the entire kit.

I don't have 1,300 to drop on a new garrett...200 bucks sounds alot more like feasible to me but eventually I may want something more spohisticated...and namebrand doesn't mean shit for quality

you can always buy a rebuilt garrett for 500 which is what i have. rebalanced and warrantied with no issues.
but as far as ebay turbos go, there have been quite a few who have good results from them besides ryan. for example JFK_78 is rocking an ebay 57trim T3/T04E .63a/r turbine, stg. 3 wheel. he runs 417whp / 322tq @ 30psi on a Mustang dyno. very tempting to buy whatever he has. but then again we have all those horror stories from nobody whos actually had one.

I know several people that ran the SSAC 57 trims with no problems at all but one of the guys blew his motor after about a month so I dunno how long it really would've lasted. The other guys is still going as far as I know. As long as you run an oil restrictor and don't run to much boost, I think it'll be ok for a couple months..but who knows with them. It could be bad right from the start...but good luck to him bro. Hopefully he got a good one.

Isn't it still cheaper to buy an SSAC turbo & have it rebuilt by Blaast VS buying a rebuilt Garret from Blaast or elsewhere? I don't know anybody that has had a turb rebuilt by Blaast, but their site seems to indicate that they can turn an SSAc unit into a solid, reliable piece......

knockoff t3/t4 $200, blaast rebuild $250 = about $450
blaast sells rebuilt garretts in whatever a/r combo and trim you want for about $450. you can custom talor a turbo to your needs :TU:

even if it doesn't screw up right after you guys install it or even a couple weeks down the road, don't be fooled. It still has the potential to blow at any time. Not saying that it will, just be prepared just in case bro.

My SSAC turbo and manifold are running at 21psi on their knockoff wastegate and with no oil restrictor, I'll let you know how long until it pops. So far it's got 500 miles on it.

even Garrett snails need a restrictor

The stealthmode line kit came with a restrictor, but it didn't fit the rest of the fittings in the kit. So, I ordered one off that aircraft parts site from one of the other D-series threads, but it didn't fit either, so I gave up.
