I've all ways been curious about this. Did Mustaine or Hammet play led for there first album? If Hammet did Mustine write, play, or contribute anything? I'm a hugh metallica fan and since recently haven't really listen to anything else other then like slayer. I just heard some MegaDeth and they fucking kick ass! Curious to his involvement in Metallica. Was it ever james, larhs, mustaine, and cliff?

<---- Bigger fan than you :P

Mustaine did write some of the metallica solos on the first album. But, when they went to NY to record the album, they gave Dave a bus ticket back to LA. I'm not joking, I'll try to find the clip of Lars explaining the story. Needless to say, they thought Dave was a drunk asshole. This is coming from the band that got the nickname alcoholica. :D:D

It was James, Lars, Cliff, and Mustaine in LA, tearing up the live scene. In a way, mustaine kinda helped them get where they were, but also held them back alot. Before Cliff there was a friend of James playing bass, and when the guys say Cliff at The Whiskey, they started fucking with their bassist. At one point Dave poured two beers into his guitar and amp, so he quit.

Ahhh, good stuff. I haven't listened to a lot of metallica in years, but they were my favorite band when I started learning guitar, so I have half their catalog minus solos memorized still.

first off i've been a metallica since their first album "kill em' all" but i love megadeth. now dave wrote alot of the first three metallica albums. if you go back to kill em' all, ride the lighting and masters of the puppets credits you will see dave in alot of the song. now everyone loves "the four horseman" but if you ever listen to the "Mechanix" by megadeth it's the same song, faster and w/o the fag pretty part. the problem was that dave was a mean drunk and thats why he was booted out. but as musician dave alway wrote sick part and songs. in the four horseman/mechanix the solo of it start w/traid minors/diminsh 3rd. did he he knew what he was doing at the time probly not but damd i still love how the solo starts.

I have that Bay Area Trashers bootleg LP, and I think Dave is playing on it...
Guitar solos are the same, but not nearly as well played in my opinion.

Personally I think Kirk was better technically then Dave, from what I've heard.
Also, I've read that James played all guitar stuff on Kill, except the solos, which Kirk came and played in a hurry.

I'm more of a Dream Theater / Symphony X listener now, but I'll always love Metallica I guess.
I'm also rehearsing with a band (actually just drums and two guitars), playing some Metallica and Maiden.

true in some point, about dave. but have you ever try to play any megadeth and sing at the sametime. it's fucking hard. try playing "holy wars, mary jane, or Rust In Peace...Polaris". it's almost impossible. on one footnote rust in peace was written before he was in metallica, in a band call panic.

as for iron maiden... maiden rules. and if you ever want to learn every maiden song i teach you. every song is written in e minor in the 7th postion.

I can't sing and play at the same time for shit ;)
I've just opened my eyes to Maiden... Haven't really listened that much to them.
But they're playing here right now :) A lot of very good riffs...

Losfer Words will be the first song the play in the "band". Pretty cool instrumental.
Also, we will start rehearsing Orion by you know who. I usually look at tabs and figure out about how songs are played.
But of course, there are so damn many errors in them, so you just get a basic idea mostly.

So you play aswell remoer? Cool. Some rep coming your way :)

why yes i play 5 instruments 2 of them not so good and still having problem learning to play the skin flute. lol.

but there are tons of instrumental maiden but my favorite maiden of all time is: "To Tame A Land" of "PIECE OF MIND" album. i can't play with my fingers i play w/a pick and when i'm done playing this song my hands feel like i just finish a jerk-off-a-thon. lol. my second is "Iron Maiden" of Iron Maiden and transylviana is also a good instrumental, too off that same album.

i think i'm going to pop in maidens 1st cd when i get home. lol

How much music would there be without people paying for it?
Of course they want to make money doing it. It's their job... I'd be pissed too :D
They did engage a little too much, but I don't care what they do... Shit happens....

So I really don't understand people not wanting to support their favourite bands.
I can't afford to buy all the albums, but if there's one I really like, I buy it...
That's why I have all Dream Theater and all Metallica albums...
Symphony X is the next band I intend to get all the albums from.
Sorry, that got way off topic...

ok, on this argument i will explain it to you every simple. the reason why the whole napster shit is very simple. well let's take it a bit further back before some of the younglins here was knee high to a grasshopper.

record label promise that with this new way of recording the prices will go down. wrong it has never happen.
artists get a lump of money to record their cd which in turn the must pay back w/intrest. a gold record is just a paid in full reciept.(the label saying hey thanks for paying us back the money we load you). now the only time an artist makes money is on the road or sell any thins over a gold album. which on the road they're also trying to pay back the money back.
now here is where why the napster shit happens. now a cd cost $15, out of that money the artist only gets $1. the rest goes to promotion, packaging and a slue of other things. now what happens w/napster cuts the middle man (record labels) which inturn we get to hear the music and then we go to their concerts. so the record labels lose money not the artist. they pay the record label and everything goes to the artist. with in this loop hole why is it that artists don't get sign to 5,7 rcord deals anymore and only. simple if the first cd doesn't do good then on there second cd they would pay the artist less recoop what the loss money from the first and then cut the artist. which at the end of the year they can get a tax break for loss investment.
