are there any mods known to make the vtec louder...and im not talking about a cai...louder as in comparision to the b18c1/5....would a cam and intake manifold greater the sound...im just curious...i got a 59300 / obx manifold waiting to be installed...if my damn gaskets ever get here..hoping to hear the glorified vtec scream louder

cam definately, IM and TB im sure since it has to do with intake system, but the cam is ganna b the big change, and as for Vtce nothing like the 18c5-R but it ill b closer to a bone stock GSR, a nice pop.. kinda loud...

just lower your vtec to liek 4500 and then it will be loud.. slow.. but loud
ive noticed a big difference once i put my cam in though in the way the car sounds throughout the rpm's.. not just vtec
im running a exospeed stage 3, aem sri, 2.5 in exhaust, test pipe...

my friends 99 ex is loud as fuck and its all stock and automatic. i swear that thing has a gsr in it. also, get a d15z1 and run a p28. definately hear vtec when that 4th valve kicks in.

im in no way trying to loose power to hear the extra few db's but just to make it more noticable i guess....well see after the cam and manifold install...will try and make a video

its never going to be that lound since we don't have vtec on the exhaust valves. My setup, you can barely hear vtec, but its professionally tuned so that I hit vtec in the nest place for the powerband.

VTEC isn't loud on a GSR, it's at 4400 rpm.....now when the butterfly valves open on the secondary intakes runners at 5750 rpm, that's when it gets loud.........

Why would you want it to be louder?

send your cam for a regrind and have them only enlarge the vtec lobes and the exhasut lobes.
