Alrighty, so I have a stock EX tranny right now that's beginning to go down the shitter. I can audibly hear the bearings grinding, I'm pretty sure it's just the pilot bearing but hey. 2nd gear synchro is also shot, so that's getting replaced as well.

This is what's going in.

OBX LSD (woo!)
1.762 2nd
1.033 4th
New bearings/2nd synchro

Right now I'm trapping ~102, I'm looking to try and trap 120mph at the most. My turbo also spools pretty late, 7psi by 5000 rpms. I'm trying to get my shift points to extend as far into the RPM range as I can so that I'm not falling out of boost and having to respool, because that's really really annoying. Also, longer 1st and 2nd should help with the whole spinning the tires thing, but I can't find a longer 1st?

Any input would be cool, I'm aware of the 4th gear modification that needs to be done. Anything else I should know, helpful hints/tips?

Bense, you ass. :haha:

So I had my car up on the lift today checking out some small oil leaks via turblow, car running... my tranny sounds like a train going down railroad tracks. *thunk thud thunk thunk thunk thud thunk*

It's the tranny I learned how to drive on, gimme a break. :p

2nd gear is hard to get into at high Rs, and the bearings are making all of the noise. I figure if I'm in there, I might as well as just replace em all.

And hey, Bensie's giving me all the info and the gears, blame him, lol.

bad ISB does effect shifting.....and the added stress of trying to get into second = worn shifter forks.

3.25 1st to 1.762 second, you gotta wait a split second for the synchro to match speeds.......

After that on my "city" tranny, clutchless shifts during normal driving due to close ratios.

Longer first/second combo, only one cure, Kaaz.
