Doubt it. I think if there was a way to make a DOHC ZC have vtec, it would have been done already and this question wouldn't be asked.

Are you talking about removing the DOHC head and replacing with a SOHC head?

it has been said that the v-tec is'nt all that much more powerful than the nonv-tec. really all it is is just louder. how much truth that holds i don't know.my engine is a zc 1.6 sohc, but mine came with v-tec.

sure it's called a b16 though!!!!!!!! vtec just gives you the little xtra bump in power from i think 5800 to 8200 rpms(b16) and type R go to like 9000 rpms or something

ok this is like DOHC ZC law , you cant put a SOHC VTEC or any SOHC head on a DOHC ZC block , you cant use integra LS cams in a DOHC ZC, cant use a D series manifold on a DOHC ZC . and the B16 is 158hp and 111ft lbs and $1500 or more and the DOHC ZC is 137hp and 109 ft lbs for like $750. called best bang for your buck , and with small mods you will walk on most b16s . hope this will help

yea jh... not all dohc zc's are fast tho.. i had one with cai/h/e and the rare p29 obd1 ecu with fpr at 48, dohc zc trans and homemade axles...

the funneist thing.. my vx motor d15z1 vtec - e still ran a faster time at the track

idk what i could have done wrong..i have been driving/working on hondas for 9 years now.. i honestly dont think i could have messed it up.. i was always messing with it.. making sure the cam timing was right making sure it was getting enough fuel.. never made a difference it was slow..

my friend has a dohc zc and his is fast even with 17's its still fast

zc IS the best bang for the buck, i dont give a shit what anyone says...they are tuff as nails...ive beat my friends time at the track, he pulled a 9.7 in his b16 eg hatch...i pulled a 9.5 in my ef with less then $1000 in the whole swap...even pulled a ls swaped crx 3 times at the track..

Design, cast and machine your own head and cams. But it's jsut not worth it.

bwah... ive ran a 9.66 with a d16z6 intake exhaust total of 400 into the setup... also ran a 15.15 in the 1/4

... i got a race cam from a friend ran a 9.33 spinning all the way down the track... through the finish line

zc's are fast tho.. theres no arguement.. just the one i had was slower then a vx motor.. had some nice tq.. just shit for top end

i think the problem might have been your transmission or maybe you had a crappy clutch
