so I am running a cold air intake with an K&N cone filter typical one
i been wanting to squeeze a little more power out of the motor
and i have been thinking about getting the airfilter with the open top(inverted cone) or the the airfilter with the velocity stack in them(weapon r secret weapon filter, apexi)
would it be worth it to switch lets say money isnt a issue since i can sell my filter...
do the open top filters make a little more power 2hp+?
i tried searching but nothing real specific came up
TIA

i used to work for k&n ,and i think there is no better filter. as far as the inverted cone on top i think it helps some probably not enough to make a really big diff ,but it does make a diff. i worked on the assembly line ,and the construction and quality control is remarkable. the material used for filtration has no back pressure. i rolled up some on my hand ,and tried to blow my nose with it, but could not produce enough pressure to blow it out.

Is snot better than filter oil? I know the viscosity is thicker therefore traps more dirt?? :-) -j/k:o

A filter is a filter.
AEM Dry Flow FTW. No oiling and less cleaning.

Check this. No need to think very much, which one to get?
But changing filter to another one will not make ~any difference in these small low-power engines anyway, so stick with your K&N if it's not damaged or something, IMO.

you don't have to oil a k&n unless you clean it ,but the dirtier it get's the better it works also they are lifetime garaunteed. it's washable and rechargeable can't beat it thats why their #1 no bs. ask anyone who knows about cars.

If you really want to squeeze some more power out of it slap a turbo on before the filter...and a couple other things...
