so last night i did a mini me head swap and intake manifold. I have a d16y7 and i put on the y8 head and y8 intake manifold. everything worked for a few minutes with no check engine light, then i go to give it gas, and it about stalls, try it again, and same problem. I then get code 43, which is fuel supply. I replaced the inkectos and fuel rail with the one from my y7 and still same problem. I replaced the y8 intake manifold with my y7 one and there is no problems, only studders a bit. I think my vac lines might have been messed up on the y8 mani, but would that throw code 43?

do you still have the p2e ecu and the y7 injectors? or do you have the y8 ones?

well i tried the p28 with the y8 injectors and had the probs, put on the y7 injectors now with the p2e and no probs, just bogging out the ass

you shoud be able to to use the y8 mani as long as you use all the sensors ecu and injectors for the y8. are you running a purge solenoid from the y8 or y7? that might be whats causing the code 43

I am running everything that my y7 had. I just realized that the intake mani for the y8 has air injection holes, I will plug them up and try it again to see if it works this time, gotta geta new gasket first though.

Im almost positive that that was the problem, I'm so excited. hopefully it works, cross your fingers

it sounds like the manifold you have is off of a automatic civic thats why you have those extra holes on the flange side of the mani use the automatic intake gasket and plug the extra vac source on the top flange and you should be good to go good luck!

It's not automatic because of the 2 wire IACV, but Like I said, 99-00 OBD2b ex civics used sir injection for the injectors. Im going to plug up the holes with JB weld and hope to god that it runs perfect.

I would say thats your vacumm leak. Should be good to go when there plugged

i bet that's what throws the fuel supply code, even when i changed injectors and fuel rail

was that the problem?

If you didnt block the air injection in the manifold I am 99% positive that is the problem, it creates a HUGE vac leak which is probably why you have that code.

so does that work in reverse? 99-00 head but 96-98 IM would also cause a problem?

Can you even just switch the ecu like that?

ok, so i blocked the air holes last night, and i go to start it up, idles good, but when i give it gas, it stalls out. Now wtf? maybe its the injectors? that wouldn't be the timing right?

the timing sounds fine if its idling properly.

i dont think you need to run the purge solinoid.. i dont run mine .. no codes or anything.. in obd1.. idk maybe obd2 is different

i'm such a dumbass, i figured it out and I realized that the map sensor connector and the tps connector were reversed. I plugged them in the right way, and now she works no problem. BIATCH PULLS MUSH HARDER THAN WITH THE y7. i highly recommend the mini me swap

Don't feel bad... I once witnessed a Honda guru do the same thing and had him stumbled for about an hour.;)

It does work in reverse. You can run a 99-00 head with a 96-98 IM. I use a gasket from each which may not even be necessary but I have no plroblems.
Glad you figured it out 99ctrhatch.

mine goes from green to red on my vafc2. but yea i did the mix up on the wires once before and felt completely retarded once i figured it out. But i will never do it again, mistakes make you learn lessons, so it was a good thing i guess.
