??????
looks like they spent some MAJOR cash on that to get it where its at... im sure boring it out wasnt cheap lol
id STILL pUT the money into going turbo

ya...everything is custom when it comes to the b20a, nobody makes aftermarket engine parts...I can get cams, thats it, and then my head still needed to modified alot!! I needed bigger springs, and they are dual spring too, cost 1200 JUST for springs, another g just for valves...but it is worth it!!!

why are you talking about a b20a in a dohc zc thread? lol

I just noticed the alleged 200hp ZC at the top is still running a cast iron manifold.

They fucked a friend of mines B16:TD: . But in pics, the work looks great.
For the $$, I'd turbo the ZC no doubt

Javier is cool in my book.
This engine builder is JG Engine Dynamics
http://www.jgenginedynamics.com/JGE%20main%20page.html
Not to be confused with the ebay seller EngineDynamics who has tried to rip off a couple members on this site by selling fake JG products. Specifically by passing off fake JG engine internals. Javier stepped in and helped me get a refund. He's also a member on this site.
Wow 200HP from 1.8 liters?!?!? Pretty cool stuff!

It's not nessary to upgrade the plug wires unless your making serious power. j you suck btw..

I don;t know where your getting your internals from but... YOUR GETTING RIPPED OFFF @!
plus btw www.lsdmotorsports.com makes cold air intakes and catback exhausts for our cars.
Please go learn about 3g preludes before posting aboiut it thanks.

About the cast iron exhaust manifold:
Except for the fact that it weighs a ton, it's really hard to beat the quality/design of the stock ZC exhaust manifold. Back when I first swapped in the ZC, I had the choice of "port-matching" my old d16 header, but after comparing the size/smoothness of the two, I decided to stay stock. I'm pretty sure I'll stick with the cast iron manifold for a long time, but who knows.
About the intake manifold:
Javier said he made one with short runners and one with long runners and we'll use whichever one has the best power curve.
About the wires:
I didn't really say this in my first post, but this little engine is going in my 88 crx. I have a complete MSD setup to go on here (msd box, external coil, wires, etc), but I'm pretty sure those wires will work just fine for tuning the engine on the dyno (tomorrow)
I'll post up how the dyno goes when I get back from L.A. tomorrow (if everything goes as planned)

How'd they get it out to 1800cc?? Even with a sleeved block & roller wave 78mm pistons thats only 1720cc!!!;)
Will be interested to see the actual hp this motor makes, I dont see why it couldnt make more, a lot more!!!

Maybe D17a crank and rods? combined with the 78mm pistons and sleeves?

actually, I'm pretty sure you're right about the displacement being closer to 1700cc than 1800cc. more later. dyno vid will be posted sometime this week. later

okie dokie.
short trip down to L.A. and the engine is almost ready...there's a lil work on the O2 sensor, milling the distributer, small amount of wiring harness work... and she'll be ready for dyno tuning and her trip home.

I got an update, so here's a dyno vid:
http://jgenginedynamics.com/11%2021%2006/Stephans%20ZC%20208hp%20149%20lbs%20of%20torque.wm v
Guess I gotta take back that stock ex manifold statement, cause apparently it's holding me back (Javier says ~25-30hp) I personally can't believe how much torque is available and how early it shows up...

Sh|t, that certainly sounds different for a ZC! What sort of headers do you plan to throw on there?
It should scare the crap out of some of the b-series boys thats for sure

Holy crap! Did you guys see the video on there of the D16ZC pushing 228HP. That's amazing to see that much power being made from an all motor SOHC.

I wish I knew. Maybe somebody can help me with the answer to this. The problem is that even the best header out there would have to be portmatched.
except this one:
http://www.takakaira.com/asp/table.asp?id=38&cat=2&prodid=IJjFgGgbdCeahDc#
A custom header from SMSP? Would be perfect.
It says in the video that it has 79mm CP pistons.
That would make the displacement 1765cc...

I'm currently looking myself. Those Trust NA headers could be pretty good http://www.trust-power.com/overseas/english/01EXHAUST/010301.htm. Someone recommended using a Kamikaze header http://www.ptuning.com/html/search-result.cfm?cmbPriceRange=&cmbCategory=exhaus&cmbSubCategory=header&cmbMakeModel=crx&cmbBrand=kam&cmbYear=1989 http://www.theoldone.com/components/kamikazi/
Hytech are also pretty good from what I hear http://www.theoldone.com/components/headers/hytech/hytech_exhaust_racing_headers.htm

That shitty green EF3 in Hamilton I told you about had Trust headers on it. Seriously it had enough good shit to make it a pretty good buy for $900, GAB adjustable coilover shocks, Kelford Cams & cam wheels, FD RX7 seats, spoon chipped ecu.
Problem was the rod poking out through the block.

Why is there a Fram filter on that engine? That is a huge liability. Fram just recalled a whole lot of filters. (Yes, they are fuel filters, but I still can't trust a company that has most of their goods manufactured in Mexico.)
Anyway, that thing sounds awesome!
