Hi guys, project remix was stolen in May 2006 and thus I kinda stopped paying attention to AKMEE a bit. I was just about to dyno and tune the Type-R profile on remix. Yes Type-S and R = Crower 2 and 3. And our plans was basically just to make an affordable options out there for the D series since these profiles are proven to be the best on the market currently. Then we will develop our own profile down the road. Our engineer's name is Luke Workman aka LiveForPhysics. He was really busy and finally finished school in the past summer. Now that he has a good paying main gig, he will have time to really tinker now. I've mentioned we are going prototype a new intake manifold and finally it should make some progress this winter. In any case, look for updates again.

We do have the killer package deal going on for the valve train kit so, show us your support then maybe we will follow through with the intake manifold. The tooling cost a lot of money and the tooling cost the same for us to cast a D series or a K series manifold. Which one should we do first?!

Bone, stop messing stirring things up. I care and do have a special place in my heart for SOHC VTEC. If you guys want to see cool stuff made, show us some love. I've often get the feeling that I am wasting my time wanting to do parts for D. Prove me wrong.

okay i emailed them and they a couple of weeks ago and only now they answer me. they are having a special for the whole valvetrain kit for $525 shipped. i believe thats to my p.o. box zip 96921 usings USPS Priority Mail Service. it could be lower because you're in the states. unfortunatly, i had already had purchased my crower Stage 2 a couple of days before they answered me e-mail. i spent about $560-$580 on the crower but i'm not disappointed. crower is a great company and i'd trust their shit over some company that doesnt respond to e-mails. IMO, get the crower. anyway, akmee is a copy of crower.

did you get some bull crap excuse about how they were on thanksgiving or something like that. just think about whats going to happen when you send them the money for your cams.(3 weeks later) "We just got back from the planet Mars and we need sometime to process the paper work so just wait another week or 4"

OVERLOOKED?! that is the worst excuse i've ever heard. except for the one i posted earlier. yeah, when a whole bunch of people want to buy your product, you tend to overlook the e-mails. even though more than half the customers are online. its okay, i dont blame them for not responding back because they probably dont have money for internet with all the products they are producing and not selling.

What can I say, I messed up... after project remix was stolen I was pissed off about Honda's for a bit and lost a lot of motivation. I literally saw the header for the mails there were inquiring about AKMEE stuff and I skipped right over them (my lame version of "overlooked") and didn't bother even to read it as it remind me of remix too much. I guess I need to replace remix with another SOHC VTEC so I can move on.

Yes indeed I was. I turned away some sales by not replying. But we are remotivated again. For the most of this year I felt sluggish and just didn't give a damn (for many reasons). After project remix won the Time Attack in Arizona by in Feb. 2006, I returned home, and just didn't felt like doing anything. And then when remix got stolen in May, it just made it worse. Anyways, I'm now re-focused. And project remix2 is breweing in my head already and here is why.

After not getting much done for most of 2006, in Nov. I got called/invited to raced a K20A Fit in Primedia's Time Attack. We won our class despite zero testing and only 1 day to rep a full show car. Anyways, long story short, I wanted to get back into AKMEE and racing again. Which was why I started to reply to all the lagging mail inqueries to several people. I didn't exactly "overlooked" those emails, the truth was simply I ignored the buyers.

This weekend I was at Streets of Willows. I got my del Sol running again. It has sat for about 2 years. It was crashed at about 90 mph at turn 2 at WIllow Springs and damaged the car a bit. I finally got it back running. It is 185 whp and 2400 lbs with driver. remix was 146 whp and 2150 lbs w/driver. Both car have nearly identicle suspension setups and brakes. So the difference was power and weight. At SOW CW config I ran 1:31.7 with remix, and 1:33.15 with delsol. I was a bit shocked. Granted the delsol's brakes weren't up to par and needs a bleed and better pads, I thought it'd be at least as fast as remix. I theorize that weight plays a major role as SOW is a tight technical track that really favors lighter cars (faster transitions). And with remix gone, I can't do more testing on it but I want to do another budget light weight car. Now comes remix2, current thinking is to build using CRX, powered by D16Z6. It will be used to show case the Type-R profile with a mid level build up that hopefully will be enjoyed by the common D series members. Right now I'm thinking target weight of 1950 lbs with driver, or lighter. 165 whp on pump gas. All parts used will be good commonly available parts. I'm going to have a talk with my engineer and see what he thinks. I'm getting very excited already. Rough guess it should be 13 second car on street tires and should turn some really good lap times at the road courses.

Frank, why hide after the loose of ol' yellar?

Theiving bastards!!!!!!!

Was the Fit a creation from the Dr.?

Frank has been in the "Hybrid" community about the same time as I have, 10+ years.....so he took a break, pondered what he wanted to do. Hopefully I saved the SCC issue with him in it, I'll motivate your ass!!!!!!

haha, bone you are an enigma sir!! i'm fucking back in full force. i just turn 33 and it's time to get it straight. no more wasting time. i really wasn't sure which direction i was going with AKMEE Engineering but it is becoming more clear now. and i hope you will start to appreciate and support us bone. stop pulling my legs randomly. :-)

the Fit is by some old timer Chinese drag racers called Dimensional 1. all the old time ppl in Cali drag seen should be no stranger to them. N1 developed their own mount kit which requires no cutting.

ok with that said and done.. im still curious..

how does akmee differ to Zspeed camshafts? like the zspeed stage2 is like the crower 2 the zspeed stage 3 is like the crower stage3, they also have springs and retainers, , (all packed in a black box kinda like skunk2's)

now also with the camgears cuz based on old pics, u guys had the goldish center camgear,

i do not have the Akmee camgear, but i do have a Zspeed camgear, which looks identical...

so im curious...

ok yes i read that, its just sumthing that strikes my curiousity,

i got my Zspeed camgear from a direct dealer, since i live here in south east asia...
and Zspeed has bin making their stuffs for a while, and they actually made alot of stuffs for a well known US based company until the by 2002 when they parted ways.... (Akmee) cuz my camgear came in a box with the said US brand name hehe directly from zspeed

so it sumthing im curious of, both akmee and zspeed have the same exact model/designs?

if Zspeed got their products from Akmee, then i think it woudnt make sense if another US based brand used to get stuffs from Zspeed, thats like buying from two retailers hehe ,

or is Akmee a Zspeed product, rebadged as Akmee?

You are reading too much. Besides, why do you care anyway? As long as you can get a qualify product at a good price, do you really care want brand it is?

sl@sh
12-06-2006, 03:46 AM
no not really, like i said im curious,

sum do care about who or where it was actually made,

so dont tel me im reading too much, cuz i didnt read much i know where i bought the zspeed camgear i have etc, and

once again , to some, actually knowing who made it is of importance, as much as the quality of the product,
